Beautiful blue RARE Bisbee Shattuckite from Arizona! Bisbee Turquoise mine has long ago closed and all turquoise claims sold. Specimens can sell for $20 - $100 a carat. The cabochons in these necklaces are not backed, they are 100% big fat gemstones set in a fine silver bezel with sterling silver backplate and bail. Positive affirmations stamped on the side of the bezels. The necklace is vegan blue suede, and is adjustable to wear long or short. Suitable for men or women.

The price of Bisbee turquoise has went up since these cabochons were made, and will likely increase in value due to how scarce it is. Shattuckite is a rare copper silicate mineral. It was first discovered in the copper mines of Bisbee, Arizona, specifically the Shattuck Mine (hence the name). It is a secondary mineral that forms from the alteration of other secondary minerals. Normally it forms pseudomorphs after malachite. Most available specimens are very small, under 1". Shattuckite contains dark blue Turquoise, Malachite (green), and Chrysocolla (lighter blue). Bisbee turquoise typically has a chocolate brown matrix. Shuttuckite can have a reddish brown to black matrix.

Measurement is approximate, not including bail.
